Brinker named WHO Ambassador
Our Founding Chair, Nancy G. Brinker, was recently appointed as the World Health Organization's
Goodwill Ambassador for Cancer Control. As Goodwill Ambassador, she will raise awareness about cancer as a global public health problem and advocate for increasing global action for cancer prevention and control.

Racing through Rome and Tbilisi
We recently celebrated two important milestones with our Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series. On May 17, nearly 50,000 runners and walkers gathered in the heart of Italy’s capital for the 10th anniversary of the Komen Italia Race for the Cure in Rome. We also launched the first-ever Republic of Georgia Race for the Cure® in Tbilisi on May 10, organized in collaboration with the Women Wellness Care Alliance HERA. Reducing risk with proper weight and diet
While many experts suspect being overweight, eating an unhealthy diet or being physically inactive can increase the incidence of postmenopausal breast cancer, the theory has been difficult to actually prove. But a top Susan G.
