New drugs known as PARP inhibitors are showing promise as treatments for some of the most aggressive types of breast cancer, according to results from early studies. Eric Winer, M.D., our Chief Scientific Advisor, says he’s “extraordinarily encouraged” and new clinical trials may start this summer.


Komen Global Race for the CureNearly 45,000 help make an impact
They came to make an impact in the global fight against breast cancer. Nearly 45,000 people participated in the first-ever Susan G. Komen Global Race for the Cure®, raising $4.3 million to fund breast cancer programs throughout the National Capital Area and abroad. We paid tribute to the 4,000 breast cancer survivors that participated in the Race, including 21 global survivors representing 18 countries.
