Scientists discover metastasis gene
Thanks to funding provided in part by a Susan G. Komen for the Cure® research grant, scientists were able to use innovative approaches to detect the gene called MTDH, which appears in more than a third of all breast cancers. Not only did these researchers identify the gene, but also showed how this gene helps tumors spread.

Teaming up to fund life-saving research
We recently teamed up with the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation to fund breakthrough life-saving research about this rare form of breast cancer. The initial $500,000 contribution marks the first time a nonprofit partner has co-funded one of our Promise Grants.
