DONATIONS
Q: How will Passionately Pink funds raised be used?
A: Susan G. Komen for the Cure® is extremely proud of the financial stewardship we offer for the donations our supporters give. We are accredited by the Better Business Bureau Wise Giving Alliance.
Passionately Pink donations help support Komen’s breast cancer research initiatives, and just as importantly Passionately Pink donations are shared with our network of local Affiliates to help provide life-saving education, screening and treatment programs at the community level.
We look at the zip code where the donation originates, and share the donation with the Komen Affiliate that services that area. If the donation comes from a zip code that isn’t serviced by a Komen Affiliate, then the entire donation supports Komen’s research grant program.
Q: Will I receive a tax receipt for my donation?
A: Susan G. Komen for the Cure issues receipts for any donation of $10 or more received through the mail by Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Receipts should arrive by mail approximately four to six weeks from the date it was deposited.
All online donations using credit or debit cards receive immediate acknowledgement.
If your donation is in cash form, you may not get a tax receipt. To ensure you receive a tax receipt, please donate with a credit/debit card on the Passionately Pink website, or write a check to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure”.
Donation reply forms, including the Passionately Pink for the Cure mailing address, are available to download from the Passionately Pink website. Don’t forget to include your 7-digit or 8-digit team ID number!
Q: Is my donation tax-deductible?
A: Contributions to Susan G. Komen for the Cure may be tax-deductible to the fullest extent permissible by law. Please consult your tax advisor for more information.
Q: If a business donates items (like food or auction items) for my Passionately Pink event, can I get a tax receipt for that donation?
A: Susan G. Komen for the Cure can only provide tax receipts for items donated directly to Komen. Unless your Passionately Pink for the Cure team is a registered non-profit organization, items donated for the event cannot receive a tax receipt from Komen.
Q: What do I do with the donations I collect from my Passionately Pink activities?
A: First, ensure that all checks are made out to “Susan G. Komen for the Cure” and reference your 7- or 8-digit team ID number. If you want these donations reflected on the fundraising thermometer on your Passionately Pink webpage, log in to your Team Center and report these gifts on the Progress Page.

WEBSITE
Q: What is my team ID number and why is it so important?
A: Every Passionately Pink Team Captain is assigned a 7- or 8-digit team ID number at the time of registration. It also appears on the team’s Passionately Pink fundraising webpages, and helps us ensure your team’s donations are tracked accurately. If you go Passionately Pink each year, this number stays the same each year so we can track your donations over time.
If you forgot your team ID number and cannot find your Passionately Pink webpage, please call 1-877 GO KOMEN (1-877-465-6636
) x2202 or send an email to passionatelypink@komen.org.
Q: How do I update my online fundraising thermometer to reflect current donations?
A: Online credit/debit cards donations through your Passionately Pink webpage are automatically reflected on your fundraising thermometer. However, Team Captains must manually enter cash or check donations to be reflected on the thermometer.
To record cash/check donations on your fundraising thermometer, go to www.passionatelypink.org and log in to your Team Center. Click on the Progress Page and click on “Enter a New Gift.” You can enter the dollar amount only, or include the donors’ names.
Q: Can I move the scrolling honor roll from my Personal Page to my Team Page?
A: The scrolling honor roll recognizes a team’s top 25 donors. Currently, this feature is only available on the Personal Page. To recognize donors on your Team Page, go to www.passionatelypink.org and log in to your Team Center; from there you can update the text on your Team Page to recognize individuals or groups that have supported your efforts.
Q: Can other people join my Passionately Pink team and have their own fundraising webpages?
A: Passionately Pink for the Cure does not offer the “join a team” function. If others want to support your team, you can update the text of your Passionately Pink webpage to acknowledge them. If others want to fundraise on their own, they can register their event and receive all the online and printed support that Passionately Pink offers.
