If your question is not answered below or in the Facebook Help Center, please contact us through our website.

How do I use the Impact Fundraiser to fundraise for Susan G. Komen?

There are several ways that status messages can be posted to your newsfeed. All messages posted by the Impact Fundraiser app include a link to your personal fundraising page so your Facebook friends can easily donate on your behalf.

Automated Status Messages:

  • Installation - When you install the application, a message is automatically posted to your newsfeed announcing that you are fundraising for the event.
  • Donation Update - A message will be automatically posted to your newsfeed with your updated fundraising total, up to twice a day, as you receive donations.

Share Now - On the first tab, send a message today asking your friends for support! You can add your own story or comments to any message.

Schedule Messages - On the second tab, select messages to automatically post to your newsfeed as your event date nears.

How do I access the app within Facebook to send a message or update my scheduled messages?

1. Login to your Facebook account.
2. On the left side of the screen, look for the APPS heading.
3. If you do not see the Komen Race for the Cure app listed, click More next to the apps heading.

Why does the app need access to my public profile?

Access to the public profile is the default level of access for all Facebook apps. This level of access is required in order to use this or any other Facebook app. You can review the information provided to the app when you first access the app or by viewing the app settings in Facebook. If you have concerns about privacy, please see our Privacy Policy.

Why does the app need to post to Facebook for me?

The Impact Fundraiser app works by posting status messages to your newsfeed for your Facebook friends to see. These messages include links directly to your personal fundraising page so your Facebook friends can easily donate on your behalf. You can select which friends will see the posted messages by setting the visibility of the app postings.

Why can my friends not see the app posts?

The visibility of app posts may be set incorrectly. You can select which friends will see the posted messages by setting the visibility of the app postings.

How do I set the visibility of the app postings or review the information provided to the app?

1. Login to your Facebook account.
2. Click the down arrow in the upper right corner of the screen, then click Settings.
3. Click the Apps icon  on the left side.
4. On this page, click Edit next to the app.

Why don't I see my Race in the Race drop-down box?

Races are included in the event drop-down box based on the following:
1. You have registered for the Race. You must register for the Race before it will be included in the Race drop-down box. To find a list of Races in your area, visit the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure® Series homepage.
2. The account you used to register for the Race is tied to your Facebook account. Click the Impact Fundraiser link from the email you received after registering for the Race or from your Race Participant Center to make sure your fundraising account is tied to your Facebook account.
3. Your Personal Page is set to Public. You may set your Personal Page to either Private or Public in your fundraising participant center.
4. The Race is open for donations. Donations are only accepted for a limited time after the Race is over. Once the donation period is closed, the Race will no longer be displayed in the Race drop-down box.
5. The Race is utilizing the Impact Fundraiser app. Each Race in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure Series may opt in or out of utilizing the Impact Fundraiser application for fundraising.

If you do not see a Race that you think should be displayed, please contact us through our website.

Why are the scheduled messages disabled?

The scheduled messages may be disabled because the event is over or because you did not grant the app permission to post to Facebook for you during installation. This permission is required in order for you to schedule messages. To grant this permission, you must uninstall and re-install the app. For instructions on installing the app, please see the Online Tutorial.

My fundraising total and/or goal amount is incorrect. How can I correct this?

Your fundraising total and goal amount are pulled from your fundraising participant center in real-time. You can update your fundraising goal by logging-in to our website and visiting your participant center. If these amounts do not match what is displayed in your participant center, you may need to refresh your browser screen or close the browser screen completely and reopen the app.

The name displayed in the application is incorrect. What do I do?

Each link to access the app is specific to a participant. If the app is displaying someone else’s name, you have clicked someone else’s install link. First remove the app from your Facebook account by following How do I remove the Impact Fundraiser app from my Facebook Account?, then access the app again through the thank you email you received after registering or from your Race Participant Center.

Why can I not schedule and send status messages on my mobile device?

The tabs to schedule and send status messages are not accessible via mobile devices. However, you can schedule and send status messages via a desktop computer, and the messages you post are viewable by your friends on any device.
