An extraordinary honor On July 30, an extraordinary honor was given to our Founding Chair, Ambassador Nancy G. Brinker. She was selected to receive the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian honor our country bestows, for her work in launching Susan G. Komen for the CureŽ and building the organization into the leader of the global breast cancer movement. Congratulations!
College scholarships awarded A parent’s death from breast cancer can wreak financial havoc on a family and dash any dreams that children may have had to attend college. That’s why we created the Susan G. Komen for the CureŽ College Scholarship Award, designed specifically for the children of women or men who have lost their battle with breast cancer. This year, we congratulate Lin Ling, Samantha Muilenburg, Asimina Trigonis and Heather Zurek for being selected as our 2009-2010 Susan G. Komen for the CureŽ College Scholarship Award recipients.
