About The Walk

Show the world you are “More Than Pink®”

What is the MORE THAN PINK Walk?

The MORE THAN PINK Walk, Susan G. Komen’s largest fundraising event series, evolved from the Race for the Cure in 2018. Each year, we host over 100,000 participants at our 40+ in-person (and one virtual) walks across the U.S. Since the first Walk in 2018, our participants have raised more than $60 million dollars and continue to be a part of a community committed to our vision of a world without breast cancer.

With inclusive and accessible options for people of all ages and abilities – including breast cancer survivors, those currently in treatment for breast cancer and people living with metastatic breast cancer – the Walk provides participants the opportunity to come together and connect in meaningful ways. It allows us to focus on sharing our passion, sharing our stories and connecting with others, all while fundraising to support life-saving programs and research.

Our finish line is a world without breast cancer, and we know the only way we can get there is together.

What does it mean to be More Than Pink?

For too long, pink has been connected to breast cancer awareness. However, people impacted by breast cancer need more than awareness; they need access to treatment, emotional support and so much more. It will take more than pink to help achieve our vision of a world without breast cancer.

It’s more than a pink-themed costume, wig or pink ribbon at a fundraising event and it’s more than one month a year. Together, we are More Than Pink: passionate and supportive people dedicated to supporting those who need help today while tirelessly searching for tomorrow’s cures.

At the MORE THAN PINK Walk, you can expect to laugh, cry and celebrate with others committed to a world without breast cancer. You’ll learn about Komen’s programs and initiatives in your state and hear from people affected by breast cancer from your own community. You’ll walk with your friends, and when the day is over, you will feel motivated, refreshed, recharged and ready to take action and continue supporting Komen’s life-saving work.

Ready to attend your local Walk? Here are a few notes on what you can expect on event day:

  • Don’t be overwhelmed by the tents, tables and folks you’ll see when you arrive. Find one of our helpful event volunteers – they’ll be wearing blue shirts – and they’ll assist with whatever you need, whether you need to find snacks, bathrooms or a special zone for the event.
  • Learn about our sponsors, register to become a Komen advocate, play games and maybe meet a Komen-funded scientist. There’s so much to see and learn, so don’t miss out on a visit to the tents.
  • Our Hope Village is home to participants who have previously been diagnosed with breast cancer, are in treatment for breast cancer or are living with metastatic breast cancer. You’ll know you’ve reached Hope Village when you find the supporters in light pink and teal shirts.
  • Those excited shouts you’ll hear will most likely be generated by the folks in our Top Fundraiser Area, where participants who have raised a minimum of $1,000 are celebrated. If you’ve hit that milestone, don’t forget to stop by so we can celebrate you!
  • As you continue to explore, be sure to visit the We Remember tent to add the name of, write a message to, and take a moment to reflect on the person or people in your life who you have lost to breast cancer.
  • The centerpiece of the event is the stage. Make sure you get a good spot, as you won’t want to miss a second of our inspiring and motivational Opening Ceremony.
  • Once the ceremony ends, it’s time for the Walk to begin! Join friends, family and other Komen supporters on a perfect walk through your community, and don’t be afraid to introduce yourself to others and share why you are supporting Komen. The Walk is the perfect place and time to connect with others and share how you are “More Than Pink.”

Thanks for joining us! Don’t forget to ask your friends, family and colleagues to join you for this special day. We can’t wait to see you at the MORE THAN PINK Walk.

MTPW - How to Join

By registering for the Walk, you are showing your commitment to help end breast cancer. But just as Komen can’t do it alone, neither should you! Invite your friends, family and colleagues to join your team and help you reach and exceed your fundraising goals.

Step 3: Fundraise, Fundraise, Fundraise!
MTPW - How to Join

Without fundraising, we would not be able to support those impacted by breast cancer, fund crucial research or advocate for breast cancer legislation. To help make your fundraising journey easy, we’ll provide you with tons of tools and resources – email and text messages, social media images and more – that you can access from your online fundraising center or the palm of your hand with our user-friendly App!
