Event Day Schedule

We look forward to coming together to walk to end breast cancer with you on Saturday, August 24, 2024!

8:00 am – 9:30 am | Check-in & Morning Festival

    • Komen will pay the Zoo entrance fees for all Registered Walk Participants. Please register ALL walkers (anyone 2 years and older) in advance of walk day.
    • Once inside the zoo, follow the pink footsteps to the amphitheater and explore our four pillar zones: Research, Care, Community and Action, visit the “We Remember” tent, meet our valued sponsors and more.
    • Anyone who has ever received a breast cancer diagnosis is invited to enter Hope Village to enjoy small breakfast treats and pick up a goody bag.
    • While in Hope Village make sure you grab a postcard on ShareForCures, Komen’s breast cancer research registry focused on finding the cures for breast cancer. Learn how you can accelerate discoveries, make an impact, and be a catalyst for change!
    • Top Fundraising Teams (teams who raise $2,500+) will be treated to a team table for your use during the morning festival. Check in with your team captain for more details.

9:30 am | Opening Ceremony + Survivor & MBC Thriver Photo

    • Honor survivors, those currently in treatment and those living with metastatic breast cancer; celebrate our top fundraisers; and listen to inspiring stories of resilience.

10:00 am | Walk the Zoo

    • Your “walk” for the day is self-guided, with your own friends, family and or teammates. There is no formal walk route. Get your steps in at your own pace.
    • There is no formal marked Start & Finish line. Think of it as “A Day at the Zoo with your Komen Community.”
    • You may stay and enjoy the zoo as long as you like.

Activities for Survivors and Those Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer

This event is a celebration of the strength and resilience of survivors and all people living with metastatic breast cancer. We honor these members of our community at:

8:00 am – 9:30 am | Hope Village Celebration | Amphitheater

Join us at the Amphitheater where you’ll find ‘Hope Village’ an area for anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer to enjoy complimentary breakfast treats and pick up your goodie bag filled with donated goods just for you!

9:30 am | Photo + Parade of Hope

All survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will be invited to the front of the stage and our event day photographer will capture a group photo. Then, to close our time together, you will walk, united, around the Amphitheater and under the Komen arch for a photo opp. From there you are invited to enjoy the zoo at your own pace with your own friends and family.
