What an honor and privilege to be a Big Wig for Susan G. Komen this year. This touches me to my soul; more ways than just one. I was 15 years old when my mom came home and told me she had breast cancer. My world (my mom) was turned upside down. She was a fighter and for 17 years had remained cancer free. At 32, my mom's cancer came back and my Earth Angel left me to go home. I'll will be sharing some awesome pictures of her on my Facebook page and want to let you know that I was the luckiest daughter in the world to have this fun, unconditional-loving gal for a mom xo!
Currently, an old friend from my Warner Bros. Records day, Anita Cochran, AMC and CMA nominated country artist, is currently fighting for her life. Her new release "Fight Like a Girl" was inspired by her battle with breast cancer. Anita had emailed the clip before it was released and asked me to tell her what I thought; WOW! What an emotional and empowering video! Having been inspired in so many ways to help spread awareness of this hyenas disease, you will find a very special 30 sec intro to Anita's video that includes my local friends and our Survive 365 campaign. Please everyone, take a minute to watch. http://youtu.be/8cxRp6jspg0. .
Also, my love goes out to my beautfiful cousin, Terri Combs-Armstrong. This December marks her 17th year as a breast cancer survivor/warrior. I love you cuz!
Thank you so much for checking out my web page with Susan G. Komen East Tennessee. I look forward to spreading awareness and raiding funds to fight breast cancer in memory of my Angel in Heaven; my awesome Mom and all my surviving and currently fighting "sisters"!
