Why are you participating?
Jacquie has been a director/stylist at Fusion Salon for the past 11yrs, liscenced for 19 and has been in the industry since she was 12 years old. She lives in the Lynchburg area with her husband, Jeff, son Gavin and daughter Chloe. Loving the community, they attend many local fundraisers, events at Boonsboro Elementary with their children and are active with local youth sport programs. Her passion outside of the hair industry includes RVing, great food, wine and yoga.
Having worked with and around women for the past 26 years in the hair industry she has seen 1st hand on numerous occasions the effects of breast cancer. She has had to shave her guest’s hair in the beginning stages of chemo and helped with wig fittings, cutting and styling. She has mourned for those who have lost their battle and celebrated with those who have won. Due to these experiences she felt compelled to be a BigWig when nominated. What better way than wearing a fabulous pink wig for a hairdresser to raise money and awareness for a cause that’s so closely related to her industry.
1 in every 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. That also means that everyone more than likely will be affected by knowing a friend, mother, aunt, sister or daughter that will fight this terrible disease. Jacquie ask that you please consider donating to this very worthy cause in hope that one day we find a cure. She really believes wearing a wig should be a fashion statement and not an affect of a disease.
