20 year SURVIVOR! Join me in the fight!
Twenty years ago, at the age of 36, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I was fortunate. Yes, fortunate that they detected it early - fortunate because most 36 year old women don't get mammograms due to the "generally accepted" age for a first mammogram being 40 - fortunate because a lump in a different area turned out to be nothing but was the reason I got the mammogram in the first place and they found the impalpable spot; and YES - even fortunate for being adopted, not knowing my medical history and, therefore, erring on the side of caution when it came to medical care.
Many women aren't as fortunate. They may be petrified of the unknown and, therefore, not get mammograms. They may be unaware of how to properly conduct a self exam or perhaps their spot may be undetectable. Or, in what I feel is the biggest misfortune, they may not be able to afford a mammogram.
With my good fortune, I want to help other woman have GOOD fortune.
Please join me in the fight to eradicate breast cancer. The funds raised will be used for breast cancer awareness education and research toward finding a cure for breast cancer. My goal is $5,000.00.
On September 11th, to close out my summer of raising funds, we're having a Rally for the Cure 9 hole golf scramble at Stonewater Country Club. We hope you can join us. Thank you in advance for your consideration of this request.
Much love and good fortune to you all,
I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer in a different way, so I’ve joined Stonewater CC Rally for the Cure! I want to help Susan G. Komen save lives and end breast cancer forever. I’m taking my first step towards a world without breast cancer by raising funds to stop this disease that affects 1 in 8 women during their lifetime. As the world’s largest and most impactful breast cancer organization, Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
You can make a donation online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer.
Thank you for supporting me in Stonewater CC Rally for the Cure as I participate in support of ending breast cancer forever.
