In Loving Memory of Kathy (Kingyin) Poon

Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard, but always near
Still loved, still missed
So very dear
Kathy was a beloved daughter, loving sister, always-supportive aunt, and loyal friend. She embraced life to the fullest and genuinely valued every relationship, taking nothing and no one for granted.
For over ten years, she fought cancer with unparalleled courage and optimism. She dealt honestly with the very human emotions of fear, sadness, anxiety, and anger.
She lived as a survivor with hope for the future and gratitude for everyday and blessings big and small. She took treatments to stay strong. She participated in clinical trials not only to help her own cancer, but also to help those who will walk this journey long after she is gone.
When she became a Christian, she accepted the eternal salvation that was given freely to her from Jesus, bought with the great price of His blood on the cross. She embraced life and all her struggles, knowing that nothing, not even cancer, can take away her freedom and her eternal hope.
“He will wipe every tear from her eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever.“ (Revelation 21:4)
In lieu of flowers, please join me in remembering Kathy and her journey with breast cancer. Also to honor and to celebrate her life, you can donate to the Susan G. Komen Foundation to support breast cancer research and to support women living with cancer.
Don’t Weep For Me
Don’t weep for me
For I’ve made it home
Through Heavens gates
There I may roam.
Wipe your tears
And dry your eyes
I’m in a better place
With Heaven as my prize
Don’t weep for me
No tears and no sorrow.
