Join Me in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Gail Halpern has walked the annual Susan G. Komen “Race for the Cure” 5K in Philadelphia every year since 2005, and raised more than $20,000 for the cause! It has become a traditional Mother’s Day event for Gail, together with her daughter Joanne, and she plans on maintaining the tradition for many years to come.
Ironically, Gail was diagnosed with Stage III Breast Cancer July 2015. She took on the challenging journey which included retiring from a job she enjoyed at Law School Admissions Council, temporarily moving in with her daughter Karen in Houston, enduring a grueling chemotherapy schedule, powering through surgery, and finally, pressing on for 30+ sessions of radiation. This was all possible with the tremendous support of family, friends, and co-workers!
Gail will also be participating in the inspirational “Survivor Parade” on the steps of the Museum, taking place at 7:15am on Sunday May 13th!
