Join Me in the Fight Against Breast Cancer
Last year I was fortunate to be asked by Jane Abraham to be a part of the inaugural Runway to the Cure fashion show presented by Scout and Molly's of Reston. The event received such an amazing response from the community and from those who attended, we knew that this should become an annual event. We also knew that Runway to the Cure had the potential to be much bigger and better. So, with Jane's vision and a new board of directors, we officially became Reston Runway to the Cure, Inc., a 501(c)3 volunteer non-profit. I am proud to say that I am on the board of directors and also serve as our secretary.
This year our fashion show will be held on September 29th at 6:00 pm at the Reston Town Center Pavilion. Our show will feature 40 breast cancer patients and survivors who will be modeling fashions from Scout and Molly's and Athleta. We will also have a raffle with many items generously donated by the Reston Town Center merchants and restaurants.
The show is open to all but we kindly suggest a $25 donation either before the show or at the doors to the show. All donations will go to Susan G. Komen, the world's largest and most impactful breast cancer organization. Susan G. Komen supports more breast cancer research than any other nonprofit outside the U.S. government, while providing real-time help to those facing the disease.
Please consider attending the show and/or making a contribution today. You can make a donation online with your credit card by clicking the button above my fundraising thermometer or you can make a donation at the door of the event.
Thank you for supporting me in Runway to the Cure as I participate in support of ending breast cancer forever. I hope to see you at the show!
