It seems that we have all been touched by breast cancer, whether it's you, your mom, your daughter, your sister, a dear friend, or your husband. Their stories are compelling and heartfelt, and their inspirational words can apply to all of us, even if you haven't been affected by this disease.
My mom felt that she had so much living left to do, and that her sickness was a journey. While there have been hard times, and low lows it's nice to know that along our way we have met kind and supportive people who work to make the lives of those who are suffering a little bit easier.
My mom, Mary Suzette "Moogie" Williams, 55, of Evansville, passed away Sunday, March 1, 2009, at St. Mary's Medical Center.
She was born in Evansville, March 15, 1953, to Henry Clay and Anna (Wimsatt) Minor. She was a homemaker and attended Life of Abundance and Memorial Baptist Church. Mary was also an active volunteer of the Hope Cancer Center and proud supporter of the Susan G Komen Foundation.
Mary was preceded in death by her son, Delvin Williams, and her father, Henry Minor Sr., and a brother, Henry Minor Jr.
She is survived by her mother, Anna Minor; sons, Raymond Jr. (Dana) Williams, Anthony (Missy) Williams and Maurice (Aleta) Williams, all of Evansville; daughter, Jennifer Williams of Virginia; siblings, Patricia Banks, Thomas Minor, Jeanetta Cheatem, Eddie Minor, Henrietta Stewart, Debra Williams, Ronald Minor and Colister Minor; 17 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; her former husband, Raymond Williams Sr., and a host of nieces and nephews.
