Most of you know my story but for those who don’t I was first diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in 2003. I was only 32 years old. It was a tough battle but I beat it. Against all the odds went on to have a child (they gave me a 5 to 10 % chance of ever having children), my beautiful girl Gabrielle, in 2007. That was a such a blessing. In April of 2018 I began noticing a strange sensation in the same breast I had cancer in previously and immediately went to the doctor. Even though I had managed my breast health; had mammograms regularly this sneaky nasty disease wiggled its way back into my life after I had remained cancer free for 15 years. And if that wasn’t enough one of my dear friend and CREW Sister, Patti Pearlberg, passed away August 23rd in the middle of my treatment after fighting a very long and courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer.
This year, I registered for the Komen MORE THAN PINK™ Walk because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink®. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help. I will walk to celebrate my victory and in memory of my friend.
Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That's our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
