Do I get a T-shirt?

All registered participants will receive an event T-shirt. The shirts for survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will be in special colors to recognize their role in our event.

Register by Sunday, September 1, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Central Time to receive your shirt before event day!

How will I get my T-shirt?

Register before Sunday, September 1, 2024:
• T-shirts will be mailed to you before Race Day.

Register from Monday, September 2 - Friday, September 27:
• T-shirts will be available for pickup on event day.
• T-shirts must be picked up on Race Day. There will be no post-race mailing of T-shirts.

Race Day Registration (Saturday, September 28):
• T-shirts will be available for pickup on site at registration.
• T-shirts must be picked up on Race Day. There will be no post-race mailing of T-shirts.

2024 Limited Edition Shirt

We are excited and proud to bring you a limited-edition shirt for the 2024 Chicago Race! To earn your 2024 limited edition shirt, you must fundraise or self-donate $125 individually. The deadline is Race day, October 27, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. EST. All limited edition shirts will be mailed post-race in June to those who qualify. You will receive an email when it ships including a tracking number. No in-person pick up will be available.

Please Note — The limited edition shirt is earned in addition to the participant shirt you receive with registration.

Promotion open to 2024 Chicago Race for the Cure registrants who raise at least $125 USD through their personal Komen fundraising site between April 22, 2024 - October 27, 2024. Size selected at registration will be noted as preferred size, but limited sizes are available. Shirts will be mailed to participants post-race using their address provided at registration. While supplies last. Promotion may end at any time. Size selection determined by Komen. One shirt per participant who qualifies. Void where prohibited.

Hope Village Celebration | Saturday, September 28 | 7:00 a.m.
Join us in the Hope Village area for snacks and beverages, to meet other survivors and those living with MBC, and to pick up your gift bag.

Pathway of Hope/Survivor Parade | Saturday, September 28 | 8:15 a.m.
All survivors and those living with metastatic breast cancer will line up at Hope Village and walk, united, into our Opening Ceremony where you will be recognized.

How long is the Race?

The 2024 Komen Chicago Race for the Cure provides two route options. Participants can choose a 5K (approximately 3.1 miles) route or our shorter 1-mile route.

Where is the start line and the finish line?

The start and finish lines are the same for both 5k and 1-mile participants and will be marked by a start/finish line. Exact locations will be noted closer to the event date when the route has been finalized.

Is this race chip timed?

Yes. Please see the Timing Chip section for all the details.

Getting to the Event and Parking

Parking is $25 per car at the Waldron Parking Deck at 458 E. 18th Dr. Chicago, IL 60605. Public transportation is also available to Soldier Field via bus and the ‘L’ . Chicago Transit Authority

Are strollers allowed at the event?

Yes! We encourage participants of all ages to join us on event day!

Can I bring my dog(s) to the event?

Yes! Dogs are allowed to join us on the course and in the event area. Please keep your pet(s) leashed at all times for the safety of your pet and other event participants.

Can I walk the Race?

Absolutely! You can walk the 5k route or we have a shorter 1-mile distance available just for walkers. If you choose to walk the 5k route, please line up behind the runners at the start line/in the area designated for walkers.

For people with cancer or those with compromised immune systems, the CDC and NCCN (National Comprehensive Cancer Network) still recommends wearing a mask, social distancing, washing your hands, avoiding crowds, and other preventive measures.

On Saturday, September 28, 2024, we will race for the people who can't: For those too weakened by treatment to join. For those who are suffering. For those we have lost. Together we will fight back against breast cancer.
