General Race Information
Q. When is the Race?
A. The Race will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2017. Registration begins at 6am with the Race starting at 8:30am.
Q. Where is the Race?
A. The Race will be held at Agora at Fitchburg Center - 5500 East Cheryl Parkway, Fitchburg, WI 53711. Note: There is limited parking at Agora. Please visit the Maps and Parking page for more information.
Q. Where do we park on Race day?
A. There is limited parking at Agora at Fitchburg Center. Click here to view our parking map. To avoid Race day traffic, hop on our FREE Badger Bus Lines Race Shuttles. Shuttles will travel continuously to and from WPS Health Solutions (1717 Broadway, Madison) to Agora at Fitchburg Center. Shuttles will also travel continuosly to and from Arbor Gates Development (2501 West Beltline Highway, Madison) to Agora at Fitchburg Center. Both location shuttles will run from 6am until Noon. WPS Health Solutions has free surface lot parking. Arbor Gates Development has free parking in the ramp behind the building. Please do not park in any reserved parking spaces.
Q. How long is the Race?
A. The Race is a 5K route, which is approximately 3.1 miles. There is also a shorter route option (approximately a half mile). You may choose to walk or run either route. To view the course maps, please click here. If you are unable to walk or run, you can still register and join us on Race day. We are always looking for people to cheer on our runners and walkers.
Q. What is Sleep In for the Cure®?
A. Sleep in for the Cure® allows you to support the Race even if you prefer to sleep in on Race day! Register as a Sleep in for the Cure® participant on or before May 5, and you will receive your shirt before the Race. Register after May 5, and your shirt may arrive after Race day.
Q. How can I become a volunteer?
A. The success of the Komen South Central Wisconsin Race depends heavily on the support we receive from our volunteers in the months leading up to the Race and on Race Day. Q. Are pet and strollers allowed at the event?
A. Pets are prohibited from the event, but strollers are permitted.
Q. Do you have bag check?
A. Due to security reasons, we WILL NOT accept bags. Susan G. Komen Wisconsin is not responsible for any lost items. Unattended bags will be removed by Security.
Q. What if it rains?
A. This race will be held rain or shine. In the case of lightning or other severe weather, the event will either be delayed until the weather clears or cancelled all together. Any decision made to go forth with the event is contingent on the overall event and course safety, and is made in collectively with local risk management, police, fire & rescue, and medical personnel as appropriate. There will not be a scheduled rain date. If the race is canceled there will be NO REFUNDS. Susan G. Komen Wisconsin has a NO REFUND policy. There are no refunds for any reason. Thank you for your understanding.

Q. How much is the registration fee?
A. This year, we have standard pricing leading up to the Race.

Q. Is my registration fee tax-deductible?
A. No, your registration fee helps defray the costs of producing the Race and is not considered tax-deductible. However, any amount that you choose to donate above the entry fee is tax-deductible.
Q. What is included in the registration fee?
A. You will get a Race number (bib), a Susan G. Komen South Central Wisconsin Race for the Cure® t-shirt, and a great feeling! NOTE: Our affiliate now incurs the cost of t-shirts. T-shirt sizes and overall availability are not guaranteed. Thank you for understanding.
Q. How will I receive my Race packet including t-shirt?
A. Team Captains with teams of 10 or more members are invited to Team Packet Pick up on Wednesday, May 16 from 5 pm to 7pm at All Comfort Services (5245 Voges Rd, Madison) to pick up all of the bibs and t-shirts for their team. Team members on a team with fewer than 10 members, and all registered individuals, who did not choose to have their Race packet mailed, can pick up their Race packets at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 between 1pm to 7pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day.
Q. I am having trouble with my online registration or online donation. What do I do?

Q. Does the Komen Race for the Cure® require fundraising?
A. You are not required to fundraise, but we do encourage all participants to fundraise above the entry fee. Just Imagine the IMPACT - If every Race participant raises just $100 in addition to their registration fee, we would bring in an additional $300,000 to support local screening, treatment and educational programs in our community!
Q. Does the money raised stay right here in our community?
A. Yes! Up to seventy-five percent of the net income from the Race stays right here in our community to fund vital breast cancer health education and breast cancer screening and treatment programs. The remaining twenty-five percent supports Komen's national research and training grants program.
Q. Where do I send donations?
A. For donations on behalf of an individual participant or a team, please include that information with your check. Donations can be dropped off in our Donations Tent on Race day. Or mailed to:

Q. Is there a deadline for fundraising?
A. All donations on your behalf that are received by June 30, 2018 will be credited to your fundraising total.
Q. What are some ways I can fundraise for my team/my individual goal?

Q. I was registered for the Race by another person. How do I access my Participant Center?
A. If you know your User Name, visit the Participant Center login page, enter your User Name, and Click on FORGOT PASSWORD along the right hand side of the page. If you do not know your User Name, please contact email@example.com to have your Username sent to you.
Q. How do I form a team?
A. Online team registration has closed. Participants can still register as individuals right up until Race morning. Participants registered as individuals will not appear on a team roster and will need to pick up their own t-shirt at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 from 1pm to 7 pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day.
Q. What are the benefits of a team?
A. Forming or joining a team multiplies the fun you will have on Race day. You can create a team to celebrate a survivor or honor someone you have lost. You can also create a corporate team and get your entire company involved.
Q. Do teams have to fundraise?
A. Teams are not required to fundraising but we strongly encourage fundraising. Fundraising as a team can be fun. Click here to get a list of fundraising events your team can do.
Q. Can our company pay all or a portion of our team sign up fees?
A. Yes! Just give our office a call at (608) 836-1083 or email Michelle at firstname.lastname@example.org requesting a team code to register.
Q. When is Team Packet Pick up?
A. On Wednesday, May 16, from 5pm to 7 pm., team captains with 10 or more members on their team may pick up their team's t-shirts and Race bibs. Team Packet Pick up is held at All Comfort Services, 5245 Voges Road, Madison. Teams with fewer than 10 members, and all registered individuals, may pick up their Race t-shirts and bibs at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 from 1pm to 7pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day.
Q. One of my team members registered as an individual when they meant to join my team. How do they correct this?

Q. Can someone be added to a team after the team registration deadline?
A. Sorry, no. The last day to register on a team was Wednesday, May 9, 2017. However, participants can register as individuals right up until Race morning. Participants registered as individuals will not appear on a team roster and will need to pick up their own t-shirt at the Fitchburg Community Center on Friday, May 18 from 1pm to 7pm or at the Pre-Registered Tent on Race day.
Q. Can donations made to a team be split or shared among team members?
A. We are unable to split or transfer donations between individual and team accounts.
