You’ll find an incredible community of survivors and co-survivors at the Susan G. Komen North Texas Plano Race for the Cure®. Survivors and co-survivors gather to celebrate and support one another in an atmosphere of genuine camaraderie. It is their inspiring spirit that energizes us to continue the fight to end breast cancer forever and their fundraising efforts that encourage other participants to be More Than Pink™ .
For more information on how to join the fight please visit our Fundraising 101 page to help raise funds to end this terrible disease.
Survivor Tent Guidelines
This year, we are changing some of the guidelines for entrance to our Survivor Tent. Below are the guidelines for how to get into the Survivor Tent for the Survivor and their guest.
- Per last year's guidelines, Survivors wanting access to the Survivor Tent must have on either a 2017 Komen North Texas Survivor shirt or 2017 Komen North Texas Survivor bib.
- The Survivor's guest must have on each of the following: 1) The wristband provided to the Survivor, and 2) a 2017 Komen North Texas Race shirt or 2017 Komen North Texas Race bib. This is so we can ensure that the people entering the Survivor Tent are registered and have signed a liability waiver to be at our event.
- Survivors can now earn an additional wristband for a second guest to enter the Survivor Tent with them. The first 100 Survivors to raise $250 will be given an additional wristband.
Another change for this year is that Survivors will now only receive the pink Survivor shirt in their Race packets. The first reason for this is to help us decrease our costs so we can increase our investment in our mission of saving lives and ending breast cancer. The second reason is so that the shirt is not passed on to unregistered attendees to enter the Survivor Tent. We appreciate your understanding of this update.
