2013 Portland Marathon  October 6, 2013

Portland Marathon Logo

For many years the Portland Marathon has been rated as one of the premier marathon events in the United States. It has been ranked as one of the top 10 local road race events in the U.S, and one of the top 40 races of all types and distances.

Runner’s World has called the Portland Marathon “the best people’s marathon in the West” and for the past ten years has ranked it as one of the top 10 or 15 marathons in the country. Runner’s World also states that “perhaps more than any other running event in the country, this race keeps evolving, keeps getting better”. Runner’s World has chosen the Portland Marathon as the “Race of the Month” and said the event is one of the “friendliest, best organized most family-oriented races in the country.”

Join us today!

Here at Susan G. Komen, we are prepared to dedicate the time and resources it takes to recruit, train and help support you in reaching your 26.2 (or 13.1) mile goal. In order to participate with Marathon for the Cure, you will need to commit to a fundraising minimum. This number is set to keep our program costs low and to ensure your donations are utilized to maximize our investment in breast cancer research, screening, education and treatment.

How to Register for the Portland Marathon as a Marathon for the Cure® Fundraiser

  1. If you have already registered for the Portland Marathon or Half Marathon, that’s okay, you can still join our team! All you have to do is choose the ‘Register as an individual” button in the upper right and corner and from there choose the “Have Entry” option—this way we do not secure your entry because you have already done that!
  2. If you have NOT registered for the Portland Marathon, simply register right here on this site by clicking the ‘Register as an individual’ in the upper right hand corner and choose the ‘Need Entry’ option. Please note that we are only securing entries for the HALF Marathon. If you want to participate in the Full Marathon, please register on the Portland Marathon webpage and refer to step 1 of the registration process on this site.

Note: Your event entry will be covered by Susan G. Komen Marathon for the Cure® once you raise 50% of your fundraising minimum—the sooner you reach your goal the sooner you will be registered for the event!
