3rd Anniversary - Cancer Free

On June 30, 2018, I progressed to my 3rd anniversary of cancer free!

Each anniversary I look back at my accomplishments.  I am still a woman on a mission...a mission of enjoying life to the fullest.  In May I graduated from Xavier University with my MBA (I wanted this for more years that I care to admit).  In 2018, I achieved that goal.

Kirk, my wonderful husband and best friend, decided to downsize now that all five children have moved out.  It was a huge step embarking on selling the home where we raised our children but we are enjoying the adventure of building our retirement home even though retirement is about 10 years away.

I still exercise every day with my buddy Erica (cardio) in the mornings and Kirk (weights) in the evening.  My goal is to compete someday in a body building competition.  How exciting with that be!!!

None of this could be accomplished if it were not for God.  This past year, I came down off the high I was feeling since being cancer free and quite honestly, it scared the hell out of me.  I was so afraid if I wasn't riding high on positive energy, the cancer would come back.  Yes I know it sounds crazy but that's what cancer does...it messes with your body and mind but not my soul...that belongs to God.  This year, I have turned my energy back to God.  He gave me the strength to conquer cancer and he let me believe that strength was mine for the past 2 1/2 years before he brought me back to reality.  I thank God most humbly for my family, friends, passion for life, strength to survive and the ability to love all this world has to offer (the good and the bad).

I can't wait to see what year #4 brings!
