My name is Yvonne McClees and I have created this page to raise money in honor of my mum Margaret Elizabeth Floyd.

First diagnosed in her early 40's and after a partial mastectomy and many treatments later she was cancer free. I thank God everyday that she was given extra time on this earth with us. But it was not to last. In July 1996 her cancer had returned and spread. Once again she fought through chemo and radiation. We all knew how badly she wanted to beat it once again but God had a different plan this time. My mum lost her battle with cancer on November 21st, 1996 just weeks shy of her 50th birthday. I was only 18 years old.

She was a wonderful woman who dedicated her life to her family and friends and to serving God with all she was. Those who knew her and loved her miss her dearly and it is my hope that one day we can be rid of this horrible disease once and for all.

Over the past couple of years I have gone through my own cancer scares after finding lumps. I have had 2 breast biopsies that both came back benign. I have been introduced to the world of mammograms, breast ultrasounds and mri's and of course biopsies.

I originally created this page to raise money and motivate myself to lose weight. Things didn't go quite as planned back then but I am back. I am choosing to use the month of October to work hard at losing weight and hoping you will all be willing to donate in my mum's name and support me in my weight loss journey as well as helping raise money for breast cancer awareness and research.
